Hidden in Plain Sight Exhibit

Hidden in Plain Sight is a re-creation of a teenage bedroom, with signs of substance misuse, for parents to be aware of. More than 700 parents have toured the exhibit and learned how to have short, frequent conversations with their child about the dangers of substance use. When parents set the expectation that their child not use, kids are 50% less likely to try substances.

Influence the Choice aims to educate and empower parents to communicate with their children about risky behaviors that lead to substance use.

Parents will leave the exhibit with tools to talk to their students.

According to the 2023 Healthy Youth Survey:
  • 54.1% of students say they've had a conversation with their parents about using alcohol, and
  • 47.6% said they've had a conversation with their parents about using marijuana.

Learn how to talk to your child about these important topics!
